Description:

After being picked up by our driver and guide at your accommodation, You will head off on the road to the Ourika Valley, leaving the hectic city behind. Soon the open landscape will change, and the plains will give way to valleys and gorges.

Following a break in the village of Tafza, including a visit to typical Berber house overlooking the area, You will begin your ascent. You will first head towards Oukaimeden, one of the few ski resorts in Morocco, and carry on along the quiet roads.

As we reach almost 1.25 miles (2000 meters) above sea level, the snow-capped mountains in the background make for a perfect photos stop. Starting the descent towards Asni on the other side of the valley.

For lunch, take your pick between eating inside a traditional house with a Berber family, or outside by the pool in a charming local inn. In the nearby village of Asni, a very important Berber souk is held every Saturday, where producers bring fruit, vegetables and livestock to sell.

After lunch you head towards the Kik Plateau, at over 1.1 miles (1800 meters) above sea level and offering more spectacular views of the mountains. Experience the amazing contrast between the two mountain ranges and look around to see traditional Berber adobe houses scattered around in small villages.

As we descend onto the other side, keep your eyes open for the brave Para gliders flying off from the cliffs nearby. If the light is right, we can stop once more to capture the amazing landscape unfolding before our eyes.

The vast panorama is only interrupted by the reservoir of the 4-mile (7 km) wide lake Lalla Takerkoust. Further down the road, ruins of Kasbahs border the road. Here you will stop for a cup of tea by the lake, starting your journey back to Marrakech.
